About the material

Lauric acid is dodecanoic acid, a saturated C12 fatty acid. Its commercial sources are coconut and palm kernel oil, which typically run 40–50% C12. It is valued in soap and detergent formulation for the rich, stable lather it produces, and in lubricants such as rolling oils and metal-working fluids for its thermal and oxidative stability and low volatility.

Oleic acid is a monounsaturated C18:1 acid with a single cis double bond, and is the most widely distributed of all fatty acids in nature. It is used for soaps and metal soaps, surfactant production, as a textile lubricant, and as feedstock for vegetable fatty acid esters.

Typical applications
