About the material
Kraft paper is made by the sulphate pulping process, which is what gives it its strength, and is supplied either unbleached as natural brown or bleached white. Bleached kraft is typically specified to an ISO brightness of at least 70.
Machine glazed, or MG, describes the finish rather than the furnish. The web is passed through a calender stack of polished cylinders so that one side comes out smooth and glazed while the other stays matte — useful where one face needs to take print or a coating and the other does not.
Grammage is the practical specifying dimension. MG kraft commonly runs between about 32 and 100 gsm, while kraft grades overall span roughly 30 to 250 gsm, with multi-wall sacks for powders, flour and sugar sitting at the heavy end.

- Packaging, paper bags and multi-wall sacks
